THE STORY
Reported Haunting
Local legend surrounding the former 1790 House Bed and Breakfast tells of a rocking chair in the Rice Planter's Room that would mysteriously rock back and forth with no one nearby.
The historic 1790 House once operated as a bed and breakfast on Highmarket Street in Georgetown. Local ghost lore centers on the former Rice Planter's Room, where a rocking chair was reportedly known to begin rocking back and forth without anyone touching it. The property no longer operates as a bed and breakfast, and little documentation exists beyond the longstanding paranormal story, making the haunting best preserved as a local legend.
