THE STORY
Reported Haunting
Known locally as Hanoi's mysterious "ghost house," 300 Kim Ma has accumulated decades of stories involving apparitions, strange noises and claims that occupants would not remain in the building.
The property at 300 Kim Ma in Hanoi is one of Vietnam's best-known so-called haunted houses. The building was associated with Bulgarian diplomatic use and remained largely unused for many years, helping fuel stories about why occupants supposedly refused to remain there. Local legends describe unexplained noises, apparitions and other strange activity. More dramatic claims involving deaths at the property are part of local folklore and have not been firmly established.
