THE STORY

Reported Haunting

The Benjamin Wilson House is an imposing Greek Revival mansion built in 1868, widely regarded as one of the most haunted houses in Savannah, Georgia.Overlooking Taylor Square (formerly Calhoun Square), the luxury property was constructed atop an undocumented 19th-century burial site for enslaved people, a detail central to its dark spiritual reputation. Local lore is dominated by the tragic legend of the original owner's daughter, who reportedly died of heatstroke after being tied to a chair facing the window as punishment. Passing tour groups and ghost hunters regularly report seeing childlike apparitions peering through the upper windows, massive cold spots, and sudden electronic or camera equipment failures near the facade.
