THE STORY

Reported Haunting

Constructed in 1750, the property was once home to British Prime Minister George Canning. Its dark reputation took root in the 1850s when an eccentric, heartbroken resident named Thomas Myers went mad inside, living as a recluse who only roamed the rooms at night by candlelight. The attic room is the epicenter of its supernatural lore, allegedly haunted by a terrifying, amorphous entity known as the "Nameless Thing". According to Victorian folklore, multiple people—including a maidservant and a trespassing sailor—were found dead inside the room, completely uninjured but with their faces frozen in pure terror.
