The historic Calcasieu Parish Courthouse is closely associated with the story of Annie Beatrice McQuiston, better known as Toni Jo Henry, who was tried for murder and executed in Louisiana in 1942. Courthouse employees and visitors have reported unexplained footsteps, voices, electrical disturbances and other unusual activity traditionally attributed to Henry's spirit.
