THE STORY

Reported Haunting

The Thunder Bay Inn is associated with reports of a baby rocking chair moving by itself and other unexplained activity attributed to a friendly female presence.

The historic Thunder Bay Inn began as a facility serving the surrounding mill operation and was later purchased by Henry Ford. One of the best-known paranormal accounts comes from a former owner's son, who reported seeing a wooden baby rocking chair moving back and forth by itself after the inn had been closed for the night. Other unusual activity has also been reported at the property, with the resident spirit generally described as nonthreatening.
