THE STORY
Reported Haunting
Possibly the oldest home in Georgetown, the Bolem House is said to be haunted by the spirits of long-dead sailors from its early days as a tavern.
The Bolem House at 719 Prince Street may be the oldest house in Georgetown. Southern Spirit Guide notes that evidence suggests the home was originally built as a tavern, likely serving sailors who came through the busy port. Residents have reported seeing and hearing ghostly sailors inside the house, including a 1993 Christmas encounter with an old man in sailor clothing who appeared in the kitchen and hallway before vanishing.
