THE STORY

Reported Haunting

The demolished President Building at 727 Tran Hung Dao was notorious for stories of apparitions, marching soldiers, screams and a legend involving bodies supposedly buried beneath the structure.

The former President Building at 727 Tran Hung Dao was a 13-story apartment building used to house American military personnel and others during the Vietnam War era. The building developed a long paranormal reputation, with stories of screams, marching footsteps, apparitions and encounters involving an American serviceman and a Vietnamese woman. One persistent legend claimed four bodies were buried at the corners of the building during construction as part of a supernatural ritual. That story is folklore rather than established fact. The building was later demolished, but the former site remains associated with its haunting legends.
