Guests at Big Bay Point Lighthouse have reported an elderly male apparition, often described as a former lighthouse keeper, appearing inside the historic property.
Built in 1896 on a remote point overlooking Lake Superior, Big Bay Point Lighthouse has become associated with the story of keeper William Prior and the death of his son. After his son died from complications following an injury, Prior reportedly disappeared into the surrounding woods and was later found dead. Guests at the lighthouse inn have since reported seeing an elderly male apparition, often described as having a thick red mustache and appearing at the foot of beds before suddenly vanishing.
