THE STORY
Reported Haunting
Originally built in 1832, the Martha Washington Inn has served as a private home, Civil War hospital, women's college, and hotel. Guests and staff report apparitions of wounded soldiers, a ghostly nurse, phantom horses, unexplained bloodstains, and the spirit known as the Yankee Sweetheart.
Ghost Atlas has a published record for this location, but a full narrative has not yet been added.
