THE STORY

Reported Haunting

The former Carburs Restaurant is reportedly haunted by an employee who died in the building's basement. Most encounters are said to occur downstairs, where witnesses have reported seeing his apparition or sensing an unseen presence. Elsewhere in the restaurant, cold drafts have lifted women's skirts, glasses have shattered, plates have flown from counters, and temperatures have changed abruptly.

At American Flatbread, once the Carburs Restaurant, a deceased former employee occasionally makes an appearance. The former worker shot himself in the head in the basement; the bullet is still embedded in the wall, according to reports. While most ghostly encounters occur in the basement, folks in the bar have reported ladies’ skirts being lifted by a cold breeze, glasses shattering, plates flying off counters and sudden temperature changes. It is said that female employees are told not to go into the basement, because some have been trapped in the walk-in freezer when the door slams shut unexpectedly. A female bartender reported that when she turned her back for a moment, a pyramid of glasses suddenly appeared on the bar after she had just put them away.
