Antiques and Uniques Collectibles (located at 7 Aviles Street) is a permanently closed antique shop housed inside a historic 1888 brick building originally constructed as the St. Augustine City Jail.Because the structure was built directly atop the 1700s Los Remedios Catholic Cathedral Cemetery, it is regarded as one of the most intensely haunted commercial buildings in downtown St. Augustine. The property was famously featured on the television series My Ghost Story due to severe poltergeist activity, including security cameras capturing disembodied footsteps in the vacant upper loft, merchandise flying off display shelves entirely on its own, and frequent sightings of childlike apparitions roaming among the vintage collectibles.
