THE STORY
Reported Haunting
Manchester's Antwerp Mansion has become a paranormal investigation hotspot, with reports of shadow figures, disembodied voices, footsteps, cold spots and growling from its cellars.
Antwerp Mansion is a sprawling Gothic house in Manchester's Rusholme district, originally constructed around 1840 as part of the exclusive Victoria Park estate. After decades as a private residence and later a members' club, it became famous as an underground nightclub and arts venue. Today the building continues to host arts activities, filming and paranormal investigations. Visitors and ghost hunters have reported dark shadow figures on stairways and in corridors, unexplained footsteps and knocks, disembodied voices, sudden cold spots and the sensation of being watched. The cellars have developed a particularly ominous reputation, with investigators repeatedly reporting unexplained growling and other strange noises from the darkness.
