THE STORY

Reported Haunting

Arcadia Mill in Milton, Florida, is a major regional paranormal hot spot heavily featured in local ghost tours. The site's primary hauntings include:The Simpson Family Phantoms: Full-bodied apparitions of the original 19th-century mill-owning family are regularly spotted roaming the nearby historic homestead and standing under the old live oak trees.Antebellum Residual Energy: Visitors and investigators note heavy spiritual energy, phantom whispers, and the disembodied sounds of historic machinery near the mill ruins, tied to its history of grueling slave labor.Civil War Skirmish Shadows: Sudden temperature drops and dark shadow figures darting through the woods are attributed to the restless spirits of wartime soldiers who fought in multiple skirmishes on the grounds.

One of the caretakers believes the museum is haunted by at least two spirits. He regularly hears voices and footsteps – some of the footsteps are so pronounced that you can actually feel the vibrations coming through the floor.
