The Aztec Theatre is said to be haunted by a phantom projectionist who appears in the projection booth and reportedly plays tricks on theater personnel.
The Aztec Theatre opened in downtown San Antonio in 1926 as an elaborately decorated movie palace. Paranormal lore centers on the projection booth, where witnesses have reported an apparition believed to be a former projectionist. The spirit is said to appear inside the booth and play tricks on people operating the projection equipment. The historic theater survives as a live entertainment venue.
