THE STORY

Reported Haunting

The Baker County Courthouse is rumored to be haunted by former prisoners and courthouse employees connected to its long history. Witnesses have reported unexplained footsteps, doors opening by themselves, and voices echoing through otherwise empty hallways. Some employees believe unseen spirits still occupy parts of the historic building.

Dating back to 1906, the historic courthouse no longer serves as a jail due to flooding from the nearby Flint River on several occasions. Disembodied footsteps and ghostly voices are often heard when there is no one around.
