THE STORY
Reported Haunting
Bannack Ghost Town was Montana's first territorial capital before the gold ran out and the town was gradually abandoned. Today, visitors report hearing phantom footsteps on empty boardwalks, voices from deserted buildings, and apparitions believed to be former miners and residents. Its remarkably preserved streets and frontier history make Bannack one of the American West's most atmospheric ghost towns.
Historic abandoned mining town and former territorial capital associated with apparitions, unexplained sounds, and Old West ghost stories.
