THE STORY

Reported Haunting

The primary hauntings and ghost lore reported at this historic Victorian estate include:The Room 305 Murder: The building’s most prominent supernatural legend centers on a woman who was reportedly murdered by her husband inside Room 305. Precisely at 2:15 AM on the morning of every quarter moon, guests claim to see a faint, translucent female figure drift across the bedroom mirrors before vanishing straight into the walls. The Ghost of Ellar Day: Local history and ghost walks feature the spirit of Ellar Day, a 19th-century dining room server who was shot four times by her boyfriend in the historic servants' quarters. The area has since been converted into the hotel spa, where guests and massage therapists report feeling her distinct presence and witnessing objects shift unexpectedly.Poltergeist and Audio Phenomena: Visitors routinely report the sound of disembodied footsteps pacing empty, locked corridors late at night, and bathroom faucets that turn themselves on and off entirely on their own.The Roof Dancers: Nearby residents and passersby looking up at the hotel at night have occasionally reported seeing a phantom couple dressed in period-accurate 1880s clothing dancing along the rooftop.

At this historic 1886 hotel, a ghostly woman is said to walk at 2:15 a.m. on every quarter of the moon. Rumor has it that she was murdered by her husband, and she is looking for him. Local legend has it that on the anniversary of her death, the ghostly scene replays, but only she is present. Her killer is invisible.
