THE STORY
Reported Haunting
Bellevue Hall is widely considered one of the most haunted locations in Delaware, renowned for localized paranormal phenomena centered on its upper floors. Situated within Bellevue State Park in Wilmington, this 1850s mansion—originally built as Woolton Hall and later transformed by the prominent du Pont family—has a storied past that fuels numerous local ghost stories.
This home in the Bellevue State Park is reportedly home to several spirits. Staff says the second and third floors, which are closed to the public, are especially haunted. Here, spirits tinker with the electricity, move chairs, and can be heard laughing and screaming.
