THE STORY
Reported Haunting
The historic church property has been associated with reports of unexplained activity experienced by visitors and congregation members. Accounts include mysterious sounds and the sensation of an unseen presence within or around the building.
Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery (Bethel Assembly of God) dates back to the mid-1800s. Sources say it has a separate are for criminals and one for children. Witnesses have reported ghostly voices, lights, shadow people, and evil growls from the surrounding forest. What’s more, legend has it that the cemetery is home to a monster with the body of a lion, the head of a dog, and red glowing eyes.
