THE STORY

Reported Haunting

The Biltmore-Oteen Bank Building is associated with stories of lingering spirits from Asheville's past. Witnesses have reported unexplained footsteps, disembodied voices, and shadowy figures inside the historic structure. Staff members have also described doors opening and closing without anyone nearby.

Biltmore-Oteen Bank Building, most recently used for The Melting Pot restaurant, stood abandoned since the flood of 2004. But a ghost from the early part of the 20th century is said to still linger here. The apparition of a man, witnesses say, seems to be looking for something that has been hidden within the structure’s walls.
