THE STORY
Reported Haunting
The Valhalla Inn has long been associated with ghost stories involving former owners and guests. Visitors have reported unexplained footsteps, shadow figures, and mysterious noises throughout the historic inn. Staff members also describe objects moving on their own and occasional cold spots in guest rooms.
Before it became Boccardo John, Sally Stanford’s Valhalla Inn was made famous by an appearance in Orson Welles’ The Lady from Shanghai. It’s said that Sally Stanford is seen outside of her former inn, as well as several other women (dressed out of date).
