THE STORY
Reported Haunting
The Boonville Hotel and Restaurant in Boonville, California—a historic, mid-1800s lodging spot rooted in the area's wild, isolated logging and rodeo past—is subtly haunted by the "etheric visitors" of its rugged early days. Guests and staff note that the property carries the residual, harmless energy of rougher times, with sightings of phantom entities wearing pistols and cowboy boots drifting through the rooms. Because the rooms purposefully do not have TVs, guests often report that the absence of modern noise makes it much easier to perceive the faint, passing footsteps of these historic cowboys.
This nineteenth-century inn is allegedly haunted. Guests staying on the upper floor have reportedly heard loud footsteps in the hallway, but upon investigation, no one is there.
