THE STORY

Reported Haunting

Visitors to Butcher Hill have reported hearing children laughing and playing when no children are visible nearby. The hill's ominous name actually comes from local folklore about nineteenth-century hog butchering, but the unexplained voices have given the area a separate haunted reputation.
