Oakland Plantation preserves a large collection of historic structures associated with generations of plantation agriculture, slavery and tenant farming. Local haunting traditions include apparitions, unexplained sounds and unusual experiences in and around several historic buildings. The property is managed as part of Cane River Creole National Historical Park.
