THE STORY
Reported Haunting
The Calico Ghost Town in San Bernardino County, California, is a highly active paranormal hotspot heavily haunted by the spirits of its 1880s silver mining boom. Visitors and park staff frequently encounter the full-bodied apparition of Lucy Lane, a long-time resident who ran the general store and now walks the town dressed in her favorite black lace gown. The historic schoolhouse is plagued by the ghosts of phantom children who giggle, toss small pebbles at tourists, and peer out from the windows, while the Maggie Mine tunnels echo with the disembodied coughs and phantom shovel strikes of miners who perished in cave-ins.The town is also notorious for intense poltergeist activity, sudden 20-degree temperature drops, and the ghostly phantom hound of Calico's last postmaster, which is seen trotting along the dusty main street before vanishing into thin air.
Allegedly the ghost is haunted with residual type hauntings. People claim to feel “presences” and cold spots throughout the town.
