Reported Haunting
Cape Henlopen State Park is the setting for numerous ghost stories connected to shipwrecks, military history, and abandoned fortifications. Visitors have reported mysterious lights, shadow figures inside old bunkers, and unexplained voices carried on the wind. Some believe spirits of soldiers and sailors still haunt the park.
Location is near the campground bicycle trail adjacent from Spotting Tower 12 underneath what appears to be a dune. Face of phantom soldier seen inside while recording video, have been growled at while standing outside the bunker with no animal tracks in sight, the only tracks were our own, and have heard strange sounds coming from inside the bunker after leaving.
