THE STORY
Reported Haunting
The Carnegie Library of Homestead is one of Pennsylvania's best-known haunted libraries. Employees and visitors have reported apparitions, phantom footsteps, books moving without explanation, and unexplained voices throughout the historic building. Paranormal investigators have also recorded unusual electronic voice phenomena inside the library.
Founded by Andrew Carnegie in 1896, the library was built with a music hall and an athletic center with a heated swimming pool. It is believed to be haunted. Witnesses have reported apparitions of steel workers, books that fly off of shelves, shadowy figures and unexplained male and female voices.
