THE STORY

Reported Haunting

The Casa de Estudillo in San Diego's Old Town State Historic Park is a 1827 adobe mansion heavily haunted by ghosts from its Spanish and Mexican colonial past. Visitors frequently report seeing a transparent, full-bodied lady in white drifting gracefully across the inner courtyard gardens, accompanied by the distinct scent of fresh roses. The historic building is also plagued by active poltergeist activity, with late-night staff reporting heavy, disembodied footsteps pacing the empty corridors and a malevolent shadow figure that lingers in the dark corners of the chapel.

This historic house is said to be haunted by its namesake family, the Estudillos. The house has been featured on the TV show Ghost Adventures.
