Reported Haunting
The Chagrin Valley Athletic Club has been associated with reports of unexplained activity within the property. Visitors and employees have described mysterious footsteps, unusual sounds, and other strange occurrences suggesting that an unseen presence may linger there.
This historic building now houses the county athletic club, but was formerly a schoolhouse. During its history, a cruel schoolmistress punished a girl to the extent that she died, leading to the closure of the school and the basis of the haunting that occurs nowadays. People in the quiet library area of the club have reported hearing the cracking of a whip, as well as the mournful cries and sobs of a young child.
