THE STORY

Reported Haunting

The historic Charles B. Leach House has been associated with reports of paranormal activity connected to its past. Visitors have described unexplained footsteps, mysterious sounds, apparitions, and other unusual occurrences believed to be linked to former residents.

Charles B. Leach was a lumber baron who built this Queen Anne Victorian home in 1887. Beginning in 1915, the house was used as a home for unwed mothers and later a women’s shelter. It was in operation until 1990. The house is believed to be haunted because of mysterious footsteps, shadows, phantom laughter, and figures that show up out of the corner of your eye in the foyer.
