THE STORY

Reported Haunting

The Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, California, is famously haunted by Hollywood icons who lived and died within its walls, most notably comedian John Belushi, who died of a drug overdose in Bungalow 3 in 1982. Guests staying in his former bungalow routinely report feeling a heavy, choking presence, seeing mirrors fog up on their own, and witnessing a distinct, floating face that mimics Belushi's famous expressions. The historic hotel is also heavily plagued by poltergeist activity, including televisions that turn on by themselves, windows that slide open in the middle of the night, and the disembodied sound of a woman crying near the pool area.

No one knows who is haunting the Chateau Marmont. Some claim it is John Belushi who died there in 1982 of a drug overdose. Others believe it was a random guest who died in one of the rooms. In any event, many people have reported many different sightings. People have had unexplained phenomena such as moving objects, including furniture, unexplained noises and voices and the feeling of an unseen presence.
