Reported Haunting
The Clayton Club Saloon is said to be haunted by spirits connected to its Old West history. Patrons and employees have reported apparitions, phantom footsteps, and unexplained noises throughout the building. Some also describe glasses moving without explanation and an unseen presence after closing.
Once the Eagle Saloon (now the Clayton Club), this building was brought upriver from San Francisco in the 1860s. Thought to be haunted by ghosts from its old saloon days, the club has been the site of mysteriously moving objects, lights that turn on or off by themselves, and cold spots.
