THE STORY

Reported Haunting

The historic North Beach club is associated with apparitions and unseen touches and was the scene of the bizarre 1983 death of assistant manager Jimmy Ferrozzo beneath its famous hydraulic piano.

The Condor became famous in the 1960s through pioneering topless performer Carol Doda. On November 23, 1983, assistant manager James "Jimmy the Beard" Ferrozzo and his girlfriend Theresa Hill were atop the club's hydraulic piano after hours when the mechanism was accidentally activated. The pair became trapped against the ceiling; Hill survived but Ferrozzo died. Paranormal investigators visiting the club have subsequently reported unexplained touching, apparitions of former dancers and other figures, unusual lights and a strong sense of activity within the building and its basement. The fatal accident is documented history, while the paranormal experiences remain reported claims.
