This 1894 bed and breakfast inn is housed inside a historic mansion, which has many ghostly tales associated with it. There have been reports of the apparitions of a young man and an elderly former owner appearing on separate occasions in a rocking chair located in the parlour room, and disembodied footsteps have been heard in the hours between dusk and dawn. The resident spirits don’t appear to be particularly festive either, as an unseen poltergeist has been known to wreak havoc on the household during celebrations and events. On the grounds of the mansion, a small structure known as the Carriage House is located. Strange activity reported here by guests means that is no longer used as living quarters, which is generally attributed to a woman who was beaten to death by her chauffeur husband after an argument. Known as ‘Emily’, she appears to intensely dislike men, and has returned to haunt the place she lived in her former life.
