THE STORY
Reported Haunting
Operating in a historic Denver building that served as a Prohibition-era speakeasy, this venue is haunted by a former female regular and her young daughter. The playful ghosts are known to slide heavy dining chairs across the floor, tip over heavy whiskey bottles, and repeatedly shatter the mirror in the women's restroom.
The former Josephina’s Restaurant, now Corridor 44, was a speakeasy in Prohibition times. Now, a ghost named Amelia, wife of the speakeasy’s owner, is said to haunt the building. Witnesses say liquor bottles upend, chairs move, and a restroom mirror breaks. A hitman the owner had hired to take out their daughter’s boyfriend accidentally got the daughter too, and folks say that’s why her mother’s spirit is uneasy.
