Reported Haunting
The Crockett Hotel is said to be haunted by spirits associated with the Alamo battlefield. Guests report chanting, phantom footsteps and horses' hooves, moving doors, cold spots and photographic anomalies.
The Crockett Hotel was built in 1909 on land immediately adjacent to the Alamo and within the historic battlefield area. Its paranormal reputation is often connected to soldiers killed during the 1836 battle. Reported phenomena include chanting in empty hallways, disembodied footsteps, phantom horses' hooves, doors opening and closing without explanation, unusual photographic orbs and sudden cold spots. Activity is most often reported around the lobby, bar, guest rooms and offices.
