Reported Haunting
The Curran Theatre is said to be haunted by a former employee killed during a robbery in the 1930s. His apparition has reportedly been seen lingering in the theater lobby.
The Curran Theatre opened on Geary Street in 1922 and was named for theatrical producer Homer Curran. Its best-known ghost story concerns an employee reportedly killed during a robbery while working at the theater in the 1930s. Witnesses claim the employee continues to appear in the lobby, sometimes seeming to stand where tickets would have been collected.
