Room 17 is associated with the English Lady, while guests and staff reportedly hear the unexplained crying of a baby.
Dalen Hotel in Telemark is associated with a ghost known as the English Lady. According to The Hidden North, a woman identified as Miss Greenfield stayed at the hotel for several months during the late 19th century while concealing a pregnancy. After she departed, hotel staff reportedly discovered a dead infant in her room. She was arrested and charged with murder but died by suicide before trial. Her spirit is said to linger around Room 17, and the sound of a baby crying has reportedly been heard. The hotel traditionally sets a place for her in its restaurant.
