THE STORY
Reported Haunting
Known locally as Demon's Road, Bowden Road is said to be haunted by several disturbing apparitions. One of the most frequently repeated stories concerns a young child seen walking or riding a tricycle along the road, sometimes described as having glowing eyes before suddenly disappearing. Other accounts describe red or unexplained lights moving through the darkness, shadowy or faceless figures emerging near the woods, mysterious pedestrians who vanish after being passed, and large unexplained handprints appearing on vehicles. Some visitors also claim that something encountered along the road or at nearby Martha's Chapel Cemetery followed them home.
