Reported Haunting
The 1896 Denton County Courthouse is said to be haunted by the apparition of a cowboy carrying an old-fashioned lantern. Employees and visitors have also reported unexplained footsteps and mysterious sounds.
The 1896 courthouse is haunted by a man in cowboy attire brandishing an old-fashioned rifle. Perhaps the spirit is that of Captain Denton, buried beneath the lawn in front of the building.
