THE STORY
Reported Haunting
The former railroad depot now serving as an antique mall is associated with reports of apparitions, mysterious footsteps, and unexplained activity believed to involve former railroad employees and travelers.
Back in the 1940s this was the site of a terrible plane crash. It is said that the nearby funeral home ran out of room to store the bodies, so some corpses had to be stored in the refrigerator at the grocery store, which is now the Depot Antique Mall. Folks say that one of these bodies belonged to a World War II soldier, whose ghost can still be seen walking around the store. Eyewitnesses to the spirit say he is a bit skittish: If you get too close, he will simply vanish.
