THE STORY
Reported Haunting
The former Devore Gravity Hill (located on Glen Helen Parkway near San Bernardino, California) is legendary for its eerie, phantom-pushed cars. Local lore states that the site is haunted by the spirits of school children who tragically died when their bus stalled on the nearby railroad tracks and was struck by an oncoming train. Visitors who put their vehicle in neutral at the bottom of the incline report the terrifying sensation of being slowly rolled uphill, while those who coat their bumpers in baby powder frequently discover microscopic, ghostly handprints pressed into the dust.
To get to this gravity hill, follow Glen Helen Road until you pass two consecutive railroad tracks. When you pass a third set, go past the stop sign that’s about 100 hundred feet ahead and stop on the line. If you put the car in neutral, it should roll uphill, increasing in speed.
