A visitor camping near Canyon Lake reported encountering a mysterious cowboy dressed in Old West clothing on a rocky bluff. After briefly speaking to her and tipping his hat, the man reportedly vanished when she looked away for only a moment, despite there being no obvious way for him to leave unnoticed.
Canyon Lake is associated with a reported apparition of an Old West cowboy near a remote camping area accessible by boat. A separate account from the surrounding Superstition Mountain region describes a similarly dressed cowboy appearing unexpectedly on a trail.
