Emerson College's Cutler Majestic Theatre at 219 Tremont Street is a surviving historic Boston theater with a long paranormal reputation. Boston ghost lore describes an older male apparition and a friendly couple who allegedly appear in the audience and disappear before a performance ends. Some versions identify the older man as a former mayor and claim the couple died in a 1930s automobile accident, but the source itself notes that the mayor story lacks a supporting historical record.
