THE STORY
Reported Haunting
Visitors to Eureka Springs Cemetery have reported dim lights flickering among the graves, indistinct shapes near headstones and an eerie sense of presence associated with the town's early residents.
Eureka Springs Cemetery is a historic municipal burial ground on the eastern edge of Eureka Springs. Established in the nineteenth century, it contains the graves of many people connected with the city's early resort era and later development. Paranormal accounts describe faint or flickering lights among the graves, shadowy or indistinct human shapes and an unsettling atmosphere in portions of the cemetery. These experiences are anecdotal, but the cemetery is regularly included in the larger ghost folklore of Eureka Springs.
