Evergreen Cemetery is said to be haunted by a ghostly young boy who asks passersby for a ride before vanishing. Visitors have also reported mysterious mist and unexplained odors near the railroad tracks.
Evergreen Cemetery on Alameda Avenue has been part of El Paso since the nineteenth century. Its best-known ghost story concerns a young boy who reportedly appears along the sidewalk during the early morning hours and asks passing motorists or pedestrians for a ride before disappearing. Other reports describe unexplained mist and a strong mysterious odor near the railroad tracks behind the cemetery.
