The former Hanging Jail is associated with reports of apparitions, voices and footsteps connected to its history of incarceration and execution.
The Gothic Jail was built in the early twentieth century and became known as the Hanging Jail after two men were executed there in 1928 for murdering a taxi driver. Visitors and paranormal investigators have reported unexplained voices, footsteps, apparitions and other activity within the former jail. The property is now operated as a historic site with tours and paranormal events.
