THE STORY
Reported Haunting
Fiddler's Bridge is surrounded by legends of ghostly apparitions and unexplained encounters after dark. Drivers have reported seeing mysterious figures on or near the bridge, hearing disembodied music, and witnessing strange lights along the roadway. Local folklore has made it one of Delaware's enduring haunted legends.
The original bridge is long-gone (it was gone even by the time of the 1953 article), but the road eventually became US 13 (DuPont Parkway), and there is still a small bridge there that crosses Scott’s Run. No word on whether or not the dime trick still works today.
