Fort Worden guarded the entrance to Puget Sound for much of the twentieth century and now serves as a historic park. Visitors have reported phantom soldiers, unexplained footsteps, mysterious voices, and shadow figures wandering the batteries and officers' quarters. Its well-preserved military buildings continue to attract paranormal investigators.
